Technology HAS Changed Us.

Every time there is new technology available we leap forward and there is no going back. The word processor replaced typewriters. Wifi replaced dial up. Mp3s replaced CDs. Ebooks and blogs are quickly replacing many physical books.

While technology is not itself bad, it has made us more impatient and we now crave more interaction.

It’s been said the average number of times people check their smart phone is around 100 times a day. I’m willing to bet anything this number is actually really low. It is probably two to three times that.

It’s kind of hard to spend quality time with your family when you spend so much time in front of a computer screen or phone screen isn’t it?

There is no precedent for where we are today.

Sure we as society have always been consumers of content—be it in a newspaper, TV, smartphone, book, iPad or whatever. But with Gary V’s newspaper example, the publisher controlled everything. Yeah, you could write a letter to the editor, but it was for the most part a one-way street with the content.

Now as we are all connected online, it is no longer this way.

The world now has a few billion of us intertwined together on the internet.

Everything is interactive because of this technology and now each of us has the opportunity to be an individual content production company.

And it is completely up to you what role you choose to play.
