The Clark Griswold Dream Building Guide

We all have some kind of dream we want to pursue. Maybe you want to be self-employed. Or maybe you want to be an artist.

Maybe you just want to find a job you can not hate.

No matter where you are, Clark Griswold has a bulletproof plan just for you.

First, go big or go home.

Dreams need to be big out of the gate. Otherwise, you will always make your dream too small. If your dream doesn’t scare the crap out of you, it is not the dream for you.

Fear is going to try to stop you.

Fear almost always looks a million times scarier than it really is. It wants to stop you in your tracks. Don’t let it.

Go ahead, fight your fear.

Throw a few punches and kicks at fear and it will almost always leave you alone. Many times fear is just lies in your head.

Soon you’ll be zooming along making some progress.

Feels good to move forward doesn’t it? Keep moving. Don’t stop.

Because just when you think things are comfortable… think again.

Comfort is really a myth. Don’t get too comfortable. You want to be aware of what is going on as much as possible.

Challenges will continue to come flying out of no where.

You won’t be bored if you are doing anything worthwhile—I promise.

Some people will be pretty clueless about your dream.

That’s okay. You don’t need permission from everyone you know to be on board. Smile, be nice and move forward anyways.

At times you’re gonna get knocked down—A LOT.

That’s alright. Keep getting back up. It’s all part of the process.

At times, your dream will stink.

Enough said, right?

But in the end, it will be worth it.

You can do it. Even if it seems impossible—keep working—and you’ll get there.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
