Caitlin, I find it odd how you declare that Sanders “wouldn’t have been much better,” and then you go on to list a number of ways in which he would clearly have been much better. So I’m a bit confused as to which it is. I’m totally supportive of Bernie as I was from 2015 on. He’s not our Saviour and no one else will be. I’m not even sure that he would’ve beaten Twitterboy but he might’ve. And we know that no non-Republican would’ve gotten much done until 2019 with a Republican Congress. We would certainly have gotten a better Supreme Court addition, or none at all.
Our government is designed for things to move in a reasonably orderly fashion, and that means things aren’t going to change abruptly or even quickly. Twitterboy and Darth Bannon have tried to use a wrecking ball and hurry up the process but they’ve been somewhat thwarted these first six months, even with the Republicans controlling Congress and the Supreme Court for the most part having their backs.
I hope you find more coherence in your ideas and viewpoint in the future. We need people with vision as well as a way to connect that vision to the realities we have to face. It won’t be easy.
As for me, Bernie’s the best game in town at the moment.
