Normally whenever we start thinking about working more productively, reducing time on social media etc. a bunch of things comes to our mind and making a plan seems difficult. So here I have some easy tips to start with a plan to improve gradually. Credit for this article goes to my friends - Nagajyothi & Harshita KS.

Choices with or without plan are like a fork in the road, either send you in the direction of a productive day or an unproductive one.

Action plan in easy terms is a systematic plan defined in order to achieve something useful. I started following this last year and it’s been quite a while following this plan. Success and results really matter based on how rigorously you follow it and how you have defined the plan. The biggest mistake we normally do is planning things in mind. There is nothing wrong in planning in mind, but having on paper or notepad makes it more meaningful and practical.

A plan relieves you of the torment of choice

There is no action plan available online that can fit into your routine and produce results straightaway. You always have to tweak/customize it based on your routine, your expectations and your responsibilities. All action plans have a far sight motive, but you can always have a short-sight motive which you can easily track going forward and this will help you follow the same plan for a longer duration.

In the beginning to not burden yourself,

Action plan is very wide concept used by a lot of entrepreneurs. And thinking of following a big plan right upfront is not a great idea, you might get demotivated and leave it half way.

The price of discipline is always less than the pain of regret.

But what I suggest we must target to reduce the number of hours we waste each day, to reduce the daily distractions coming our way and increase the amount of work we do in the same number of hours. So, in the plan create tasks hour wise or however you feel easier. The best advantage you can achieve from any plan is to start following for a week by week basis. Continuity is far more important to keep you going and help you improve personally and professionally.

Your real competition is your distraction.

Some key tips to inculcate in your routine for better results:

Productivity Tips for daily goals

Plan your tasks before you sleep and review all before starting your day

Take one task at a time, don’t start thinking about the next task before you finished the first.

Break your big tasks into smaller ones to do them faster. This sends signal to the brain to analyze it better rather than taking it a complete big one.

Use a common pattern for your planning schedule, whether it is writing on a notepad, or use a excel sheet, because tracking is important in this.

Make a note of bad habits that affect your day and eliminate them

Our future is built through constant daily improvements not the occasional things we do.

Whatever I shared above are based on my best personal practices or experiences, the ones that bring out my highest.

Pick the style that resonate with you. Discard the ones that doesn’t suit you. Just find what works for the way you live. Then act on them starting from today. This very day can be the first day of your new life. It’s all your choice. Setting clear goals that are aligned with your most important values is a superb way to accomplish more things.

For tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today

Another thing you can do, is to mark a day as GOOD if you accomplish enough number of things or you are satisfied by your progress for the entire day not just one or two things. Now keep on doing this on daily basis and manage a streak. With the streak thing, you put your brain into challenge mode to act in the best of the manner. You can do the same with your friends and share your streaks to remain motivated for a longer time.

How to reduce distractions on daily basis?

There are multiple ways in which you can do that.

Track Distractions:

Start counting your distractions on day to day basis and record it along with your daily plan. Before you start for the next day, just keep that number in your mind and whenever your distractions tend to increase that number your mind will pass on signals to restrict it.

Repetitive 2 Minute Distraction Control:

Try to restrict yourself from that distraction may it be any entertainment video or talking to a friend or anything else. Start with ignoring it for 2 minutes and then add 2 more minutes until you get that distraction to die down. Now just record this distraction time threshold and next time you have it you’ll be able to control it well before that.

Your thinking creates your reality. If you think something cannot occur in your life, then there’s no way you will take the action required to make that goal a reality. Our perceived limitations become the chains that keep us away from our goals.

Ask yourself the following questions:

o Are you satisfied with what you are doing?

o Would planning help enhance your routine?

o What is the main reason you are looking for creating a plan? Stress or more things to accomplish on daily basis?

o Whatever you are doing, are you loving it?

My hope is that the above article will help you live with more authenticity, passion, joy and a planned routine. Clarity really does precede success. You can’t hit a target you can’t even see.

Share your thoughts and suggestions in the comments section about your problems you are facing so far and how you are trying to deal with it. Would love to hear back from you.

Cheers!!
