There are hundreds of batteries available on the market, and over time, they stop functioning, and we throw them away. But you know what? It is a common misconception that batteries need to be replaced after they stop working, especially Lead Acid Batteries. Do YOU believe that? However, battery restoring is possible, which not only protects your vehicles and other gadgets but is cost-effective too. THE QUICK SIMPLE METHOD

Step 1: Charge the battery

If you know how to recondition a car battery, you would know how essential it is to charge the battery beforehand, no matter if it does or doesn’t function properly. Charge the batteries for at least 12–15 hours and then let them rest for 10 -20 minutes before salvaging it.

Step 2: Remove the lid

No matter what the material your battery is made up of, you can easily remove them. Once that is done, all you need to do is carefully unscrew three holes and then measure the voltage of the battery.

Step 3: Add distilled water

After measuring the volt, you’ll notice that the battery is dry or almost dry; this is why it is not performing well. Now what you need to do is fill each compartment (not entirely) with distilled water to activate the acid. Remember not to use a syringe or other apparatus that will ensure a precise result. Remember, spillage can cause a spark and can have an uncertain outcome. Once you are done filling the compartments, you need to recheck the volt, and it needs to be around 12–14 volts. If you get the required result, then just take out the water with the help of a syringe, close the lid. Guess what you’re Done! And need not to read further.

THE LENGTHY METHOD

And unfortunately, if you haven’t gotten the required result, you’re in store for a bit more effort. Tiring we know, but this how-to recondition old batteries.

Step 4: Add a mixture of Acid and water

If distilled water wasn’t enough, this means the cells were fragile and need an additional kick. Well, how to recondition batteries now will be your question. Well, all you would have to do is now fill the compartments with acid now (mixed with new distilled water) and recharge it. You’ll see bubbles popping out the three holes.

Step 5: Rearrange the charger

If the bubbles don’t come out, don’t panic reverse negative and positive voltage, and you’ll see bubbles coming out in few minutes, then quickly change the packs the way they were, and your battery is good as new.

Step 6: Seal the deal
