I Took A Break From Writing To Make Sure Its Meant For Me.
I was inactive on Medium and other social media and did not write a single word for the past two months. But why?
We all know that writing is creative work and like every other being on earth I also had this self-doubt phase that if I am clever enough to write, cause its been a year since I started writing and I was not still seeing any progress. Then I thought lets take a break and see if I can enjoy my time without writing.
The beginning of my break was quite peaceful. There were no orders from clients, no headaches for writing on social media, and no research in short I had nothing to do. All I did was eat, sleep, college, and repeat. And I enjoyed that.
Why am I back again?
During this time even though I was enjoying my no-work phase something struck me, I don’t know exactly what was it, but there was a void inside me, and no matter how hard I tried to have fun I just could not fill that emptiness. Like an inside voice was telling me that I’m giving up on my dreams. The dream I had as a young individual.
THAT’S IT! I am done ignoring my passion for writing. I thought I did not enjoy writing but I was wrong, it was the lack of results that demotivated me. Yesterday I asked myself 3 questions.
- What’s the work that I loved to do?
- How can I make an impact on this world?
- What can I get paid for?
And the answer to these questions was WRITING. Sometimes in life, we often get lost and distracted and it is okay because that’s how we are built, we get lost and then try to find the right direction and eventually, we do find the right path for us.
What did I learn?
There is something important I have learned over this period. And I believe it will be useful for you guys as well.
- Do not be superficial about what you love to do.
- Self-analysis is important if you want to work hard.
- Read as many books as you can, it works like a light in darkness.
- Failures are meant to make you stronger.
Conclusion
I left my passion as a weak crestfallen person and came back stronger than ever. From now on I will be focusing on my writing more than anything. I will be the best at what I do.
