Kevin Love shoes

Nike Air Zoom GT Run

nike air zoom gt run

Nike Air Zoom GT Run is the 2nd shoe in the GT lineup worn by Kevin Love while he was in his prime. Let’s get to start with the traction; it is damn lovely. It is squeaky at the solid core, but it isn’t the greatest on the dusty setting as it picks dust quickly.

You should be fine if you’re fond of wiping your shoe after every play. The engineering of this shoe represents a fundamental paradigm in how we construct court shoes. The upper sole of GT Run is all mesh. Though it is a good fit for most foot sizes over time, when you initially get into them, they are pretty hard to get your foot into.

Once you get into the shoe, it expands pretty well, thanks to the mesh. These shoes are surprisingly durable for how light and airy they are. The heel-to-toe drop is shallow due to the double-stacked zoom air unit.

Nike Zoom Rize 2

Kevin Love started wearing Nike Zoom Rize 2 when he signed a new contract with Cleveland Cavaliers. It won’t be an understatement if we call this shoe one of the best performers of 2019. Some things have been improved since the Rize 1 launch.

It contains Kobe 9-inspired traction, and the decoupled outsole looks impressive. It is a lighter shoe than the zoom rize. The zoom air unit feels fantastic underfoot. Nike recently added Polyurethane print pieces all over the shoe in Rize 2.

It has a good amount of padding and sculpting inside the heel and has this mold that increases mobility and quickness while driving on the court. It also includes a little bit of synthetic in the heel that’s just probably there for durability. The shoe is as close to a one-to-one fit for Love as he has a normal-sized foot.

Nike Hyper Dunk 2017

nike hyperdunk 2017

Firstly, we start with the outsole. Nike Hyper Dunk 2017 has fantastic traction. It was close to level with Kobe 9 traction. It helped Love drive on the court quickly due to his excellent grip. As far as the cushion, Nike has implemented full-length react foam on it.

It is a very dense foam that can create a few problems on a slippery court. For the players like Kevin, who love the firm setup and mainly rely on speed, Hyper Dunk 2017 is perfect as it aids in mobility and quickness.

This shoe features engineered mesh, i.e., soft and durable, and moves amazingly with the foot. Below the engineered mesh is a thin layer of nylon that increases the shoe’s longevity and prevents overstretching to increase the strength of the material.

As Kevin has a wider foot, these sneakers perfectly fit his feet. Within the sole Hyper Dunk has a small torsional shank. On the rear, it contains internal and external heels made of TPU.

Nike Hyper Dunk X

nike hyper dunk x

Nike Hyper Dunk X is the 10th shoe in the Hyper Dunk lineup specially designed for players like Kevin Love. The Traction on this shoe looks fantastic. It’s not quite a herringbone, but it’s very similar. The lateral traction will be beastly when Kevin drives in the court.

The cushion is back to zoom air again from reacting, though it isn’t consistent, driving is good as this is Nike’s signature shoe for basketball. It is very similar to Hyper Dunk 2016’s cushion setup, where they have heels and forefoot zoom air.

Kevin found the heel zoom air unit interesting in this Hyper Dunk X because it’s massive, up to 14 millimeters thick. The forefoot zoom air unit is standard, right around 6 millimeters. Hyper dunk X offers a mixture between the cushion and court feel, which is fantastic for someone like Kevin, who relies on speed and mobility.

The upper of the shoe is an engineered mesh inspired by Kobe 8 edition. Though when sunk into the shoe, it is not that firm fit as compared to Kobe 8. The mid-foot section of the shoe is neoprene.
