I consider Vue is competing with React in different directions. I can see that the author is trying to make Vue easier for people to use and to debug. I, as a big fan of ClojureScript, care about correctness more than convenience. Somehow React is cared about generality(? React renders everything I mean) and cooperating with the JavaScript ecosystem.

And Vue prefers template syntax to JSX which is essentially the language. That’s a different. And templates might be more familiar for some people but lacks the generality and flexibility of real programming languages. So I see it as a weakness. I can’t say Vue is not able to, but React is better in some aspects.
