Apply for Roles for Which You Are (Slightly) Underqualified

Nearly no one expects to find the perfect candidate, it is more about a good fit and finding someone with potential

Nearly everybody at some point in their life has to go through a job search. How often did you stumble upon a job opening which you fit perfectly?

When that happened to me, the role did not have the seniority I was looking for. My friend's experience was a bit different — he was told that he is overqualified for such a position and their budget was too low for what my friend asked.

Is it truly the best thing you can do to look for job descriptions which you meet completely?

Your point of view

The job posting is exactly what you want to do. You know how to do most of the stuff, but there are things about which you never heard before.

You want that job, but you feel like you stand no chance if you apply. You feel like it is very unlikely that they would even consider you.

You somehow muster the strength to send your application. And now it hits you. The imposter syndrome.

Well.

Fake it till you make it.
