Blind guy thoughts @ 1am

There is a big difference between the sighted and the non-sighted, and of the fragility of life. Sighted individuals go about their lives minding their own business, forming their own clicks, groupies; communities.

Well, what about visually impaired, low vision, and blind people? We do just the same and also have various personalities too. Where ever I go, I’m sure there are always eyes on me because the most curious always ask me about how I navigate my terrain with my thin collapsible guide cane.

Since I live in a diverse metropolitan city, I’ve discovered that districts and neighborhoods have their own smell (some more pleasurable than others). Every individual that I’ve held a conversation with has a distinct scent as well. I’ll be honest that some smell like fresh soap while others are skanky dank.

I used to be very paranoid about using my guide cane. The fact that friends, family, people — were judging me because I was different. My girlfriend jokes that I have a dog nose. Humorous at times.

I just like to think that I’m unique.
