Eleven is not a nice number

Eleventh anniversaries don’t even have a name

But it was eleven years ago when I started posting on my blog, Atalaya. The first post, in fact, was rather forgettable. Absolutely forgettable, indeed.

Also the first visits. They probably had a single digit. In time, they started to creep up to 4 figures, couple of thousand visits. Not a big deal, but many were friends and blogging afforded me lots of goodies that I wouldn’t have had otherwise. Most important than that, blogs were a new social medium which, in fact, allowed me to meet new people and keep some old ones.

Most importantly, it allowed me to express myself. It still does, but I don’t blog either so often or either on so many topics. Atalaya (which, and that might take time to explain, means Watchtower) has become a 99% book review blog. This probably means that, as I said in that first blog post, I am looking for a new place to focus and express myself.

Eleven year later, in the eleventh anniversary that could very well be called the sterling silver or gold filled or something that looks precious but is in fact a bit on the cheap side, I’m starting this new medium. Which is called Medium.
