E-Waste

I have literally never thought or heard of e-waste, the electronic waste that we produce and export to countries like China and India to be disposed of by cheap labor in toxic conditions. I am being asked to guess how much is produced each year, and I am not a good guesser, but I suppose 10,000 tons worldwide? In response to how much e-waste I have produced in the last year, I threw away a string of lights, a pair of headphones, and I think that is it. I got a new phone but haven’t thrown out the old one yet. I look forward to learning more about this topic in class.
