Bitcoin Mining still going strong at the Texas Blockchain Summit

If there’s one place to be for a sentiment check, it’s the Texas Blockchain Council’s annual conference. While the event is chain agnostic, we’re in Texas folks… so that means belt buckles and Bitcoin Mining.

The event was an unofficial memorial (at least for me), exactly a year ago Bitcoin was at its all-time high. But the place was busy and no one was licking their wounds, it was all business, and a serious business it now is.

Don’t underestimate the mild-mannered Lee Bratcher, he got the entire mining community wearing suits and they looked, well, very dapper. Almost every conversation pertains to efficiency, planning, scale, and hedging these days — we’re in the West, but it’s significantly less wild.

Some big miners were in the room with plans, big plans. Players such as CleanSpark and Riot Blockchain, Inc. are clearly buyers in this market and expanding. It’s always a pleasure to watch Chad Everett Harris talk, an explosion of positive energy.

While the frenetic energy of a year ago is gone, a more somber tone is no doubt what the business needs. A business sector that prepares for the worst (rather than hoping for the best) is far more likely to make it to the next annual conference.

…and I look forward to seeing you all there.
