Tahou’s doesn’t have a monopoly on the plate, by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, my favorite plate is from Mark’s on Monroe, not Nick’s. To that end, you can also get a halfway decent Plate in the West Village, at a bar called Daddy-O’s (44 Bedford St.). It’s run by a couple Brighton expats.
