The Great Ones Evolve from Fear to Love-based Motivation

THE central fire that separates The Great Ones from the rest of us is emotion — they have found and tapped into a part of themselves that is a constant source of motivation to do the things they do. And no matter what else may occur or be true, the one thing they know as certainty is that they will be able to perform the tasks involved in moving their lives along because they have clarity of purpose and a furnace in their bellies.

A Mental Toughness Coach is trained to help you find that fire in the recesses of your soul. Facilitated Introspection, a central methodology for finding this fire, is nothing more than a guided journey through a part of yourself that you have probably let lie dormant for most of your lives. As a charter member of the Middle Class Consciousness club, I have spent countless hours and an infinite amount of energy trying to maintain — just keep what I have now, and grow the little bit I am able to grow after taking care of all these other “things” in my life. And “things” covers a lot of ground from material possessions, to status at my job, to my relationships and beyond.

But the Mentally Tough, The Great Ones, have discovered at least two things that I have not — that a commitment to evolution (becoming) must be based on Love, and that fear in any form is the most destructive and stultifying power in the universe. These two concepts alone, when ignored or misunderstood, can imprison me in mediocrity, and at times, make my life a living hell.

If you have followed these posts, you know that Mr. Siebold has made a distinction between Upper Class Consciousness and World Class Consciousness. The difference is subtle, but fundamental. Both seem to have wealth. Both are accomplished performers. Both possess a certain power in the human realm. Both are above the Middle Class Consciousness by virtue of their hard work. But the huge difference that separates Upper Class from World Class is Love.

The opposite of Love is Fear. Read the works of any current or past investigators of the soul and you will hear the same. There are only two main forces in human life — Love and Fear. What we have not included in Love, we have let rule us by Fear. Prejudice is Fear. Feelings of superiority are Fear. Rejection is Fear. Theft is Fear. All of our human weaknesses and failings can be found in Fear. All of our strengths, in Love.

And so, the Upper Class Consciousness, which has found nearly everything the World Class Consciousness has found, lacks one thing — Love. They excel in order to cover the fear that they are not acceptable as they are. They amass money because of their fear that they will not be thought of as respectable. And because their possessions and accomplishments are based in Fear, they experience the constant threat of loss. When push comes to shove they will have to choose themselves over all else, or lose themselves entirely. All of the great literature of all time is based on the tension between these two forces — Love and lack of Love (Fear).

The Great Ones, the Mentally Tough, the true Champions evolve love-based motivation after confronting and conquering their feelings of loss (Fear).

This is perhaps the greatest challenge of all, because fear-based living becomes our core belief. Core beliefs are so deeply enmeshed in our thinking that, by ourselves, we often can’t get at them to change them. But ultimately, we must find a way to root them out or we will be mired in Middle Class Consciousness or worse, vaguely aware of our dissatisfaction with no way to climb out.

The Great Ones evolve, consciously become, and use Love as their prime motivation. Light vs. dark. Solace vs. pain. Life vs. death. If we look at our lives and are not happy with the results, we will need to examine the beliefs that led us there. Upgrade is possible. But we will need a powerful light to shine on the deepest parts of ourselves — the parts we have tucked away for fear of loss. A little help might be the answer. A lot of courage most certainly is.
