The circular saw blade is not a disposable product. Generally speaking, the saw blade grinding can be repaired 2–3 times. This is also a more important process. If the circular saw blade is finely ground, its effect is no less than that of a new saw blade.
Matters needing attention in grinding circular saw blade
1. Professional operation
Note that the ratio of the saw blade to the tooth seat is 1:3. The minimum remaining length and width measured from the tooth seat of the saw blade’s serrated part shall not be less than 1mm. Must strictly follow the relevant operations, non-professionals are not allowed to operate. Maintain the correct method for grinding, and then use the saw blade within a reasonable life span. If it is not properly ground, it will only reduce the efficiency and quality of the circular saw blade.
Notice:
It is strictly forbidden to grind only from the front corner surface or only from the rear corner surface, as this will greatly shorten the service life of the circular saw blade. At the same time, it will also affect the next grinding state.
Another important point is that the entire wear area should be fully ground. The circular saw blade is sharpened on an automatic sharpening machine. If it is manually sharpened on a general sharpening machine, it will seriously affect the quality of use.
In order to prevent large wear of the grinding wheel, it is necessary to leave enough side protrusions from the side of the saw tooth to the saw body. On the other hand, the largest lateral protrusion should not be larger than 1.0–1.2 mm per side to ensure the stability of the saw blade.
2. Chip flute
Try to ensure the chip removal space to avoid the situation of grinding the chip flutes at the same time due to the grinding of the saw teeth.
If the saw tooth chipped off, the tooth must be replaced at the grinding center. When soldering, pay attention to the use of appropriate solder, it is best to use a high-frequency welding machine.
3. Leveling and stress
If you want to use a circular saw blade for grinding, ensure its quality. Be sure to use the leveling and stressing process, do not use it because it is troublesome. During each grinding, the flatness and stress value of the saw blade should be tested and corrected. Leveling can reduce the tolerance of saw blade rainout. The relationship between the outer diameter of the circular saw blade and the outer diameter of the flange can be found in the DIN8083 standard. The outer diameter of the flange should not be less than 25–30% of the outer diameter of the circular saw blade.
Analysis of the effect of circular saw blade after grinding
1. Sawing effect
Effect analysis: The quality of workpiece cutting is a responsibility to the market and customers. If the cemented carbide saw blade is ground, resulting in a decline in the quality of the cut workpiece, it is a very negativistic thing. This will affect the development of corporate business. If the customer is not satisfied with the quality, there is no need for subsequent grinding. In view of this situation, users don’t need to worry too much. Under normal circumstances, after the carbide saw blade is ground, it will not affect the quality of the cut workpiece. The original intention of grinding itself is to maintain the sharpness and cutting quality of the saw teeth. As long as the user chooses to grind, do not choose small processing workshops or informal enterprises, generally the core of quality can be guaranteed.
2. Service life
Will the service life of the carbide saw blade be reduced compared to the previous one after grinding? The answer is yes, but if the grinding process is done very well, it can reach 70% of the previous one, or even higher. This requires users to investigate when choosing a grinder. Be sure to find a regular and experienced manufacturer for grinding operations.
3. Stability during sawing
Regarding stability, unless it is a very poor grinding process, it will not affect the stability of the carbide saw blade after grinding.
