We are building features for the Women Who Code community and we want to highlight that work with our stakeholders, you! THANK YOU to our contributors for dedicating their valuable time to help us build tech a place where women can excel.

You can follow all of our work on github. Below are a few snippets of our awesome features.

Released

This week the WWCode Core Team worked on some design improvements and updates, implemented some error messaging to help better direct users, and made some navigational updates.

Changed

New Homepage Hero

We’ve added a new hero image to the header of the home page on WomenWhoCode.com in order to improve the look and design of the website.

Move Profile Copy into Translation File

An error notification has been added to profile fields in order to instruct users as to the type of data required. For instance, if someone types letters into the “How many years have you been in tech?” field an error will appear. This is also triggered if they enter a Network that doesn’t exist into the “My Networks” field.

New Error pages

A new 500 error page has been created, with verified Google Analytics tracking, metadata on Twitter and the Women Who Code favicon.

Internationalize About Page

The About page was converted to haml and the static strings were made international. Several unused javascript files were also removed, and alt text was added or codified for all images on that page.

Applauds!
