Business does not pay all the taxes in the US, not even close. Corporate income tax is only 11% of federal revenue. Consumers create demand that business fills. Without consumer demand, businesses employ no one. It is the money consumers pay for goods that pay wages.

I run a business for 23 years. When the financial geniuses of Wall Street crashed the global economy in 2008, our customers’ average demand dropped about 40%. Do you think I or thousands of other businesses kept paying people wages when there was much lower demand for our products and services and thus our business business income was much lower? No. We laid people off.

Business is great and necessary. I love running my business. I love creating great things that help our customers make more money. But no one owes us “job creators” anything more than what is fair, and particularly in the US, the large corporations are NOT paying their fair share.
