You realize Bernie lives in Vermont, where there is no written party affiliation, right? That right there is a fact. You learn them by reading signed documents and laws, rather than tweets and listening to talking heads.

So if Bernie says he’s a D, he’s a D. If he says he’s an I, he’s an I. Are you following so far? During the primary, he identified as a D for the purpose of the primary and as an I (as he was elected) in Vermont.

Sanders listed the Democratic Party as his party affiliation in his presidential statement of candidacy

Since the end of the 2016 rigged D primary, Sanders has mostly identified again as an I. But again, it is up to Bernie, not you or anyone else.
