How Ideas Gain Popularity
The popularity of the book The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck is a good idea of a relevant topic in our culture today. With everyone realizing that vulnerability is the glue that connects people — people want to rid themselves of the worry of what people think about them.
A look into history will show you that everything has been said. The ideas are already their, they just may not be relevant. Ideas are like oil in a culture of water — they always surface.
In our culture ideas come from the artists. Rare artists who are tuned into what’s going on. Aware and expressive. Even Sigmund Freud a pioneer in the field of psychology had this to say:
“Everywhere I go I find a poet has been there before me.”
You can’t know exactly what ideas will resonate but you can get a good idea if you pay attention.
