Christoffer Hammarström — It’s actually Codepage 437: Aside from the character designs and sizes matching, I noticed an Ω as characters cycled through. 850 doesn’t contain that character, but 437 does. This makes sense, as 437 was MS-DOS’ default US codepage, and the movie takes place largely in California.

That said, I agree with Émile Jetzer that you should use Unicode to replicate the entire codepage for accuracy. Every character has a Unicode equivalent, so unless there’s an issue with support or complexity it should be trivial to add those characters to the mix.
