I am truly fed up with having to argue over basic political shit.

“Bernie could win!”

No. The Democratic primary is over, mathematically. Bernie Sanders needs 933 delegates to hit the margin, and there are only 929 left in play. Even counting his guaranteed superdelegate vote (since he’s one of those), he still falls about 5 votes short of Hillary Clinton.

But, oh wait, that’s not a remotely realistic scenario. It’s not even a possible scenario! Democrats award delegates proportionately. His realistic ceiling is like 500 votes to 400 for Clinton. That comes way short. And honestly, I don’t think he can even run that hot.

“But contested convention!”

Yes, in theory a candidate in BS’s position could win at a contested convention. This does not mean ~Bernie Sanders~ could win one. Likely due to the incompetence of his old buddy, his misogynist campaign manager Jeff Weaver, BS spent a couple of months delegitimizing the superdelegates. Now that he needs them he’s singing a different tune, and people notice that shit.

Also, his supporters have been borderline doxxing them. It’s a bad look.

Further, HRC has been doing a lot of down-ballot fundraising. Not only is this an important part of a) being a team player for the Dems, and b) winning back the Legislative branch, but many of those people he’s spurning are superdelegates. It is quite literally in their political interests to elect Clinton over BS.

Finally, why would the superdelegates want to hand him the victory? Hillary is going into that convention with more delegates, more votes, and the backing of more important demographics. She also offers a more significant break from the past, and she runs better against Trump, who can’t handle powerful women. What part of this says “overturn the will of the people for Bernie Sanders”?

Look, I get that Bernie has spoken to people unfamiliar with all these factors. But enough is enough. It’s over, and the failure of people to grasp that is demonstrating one of two things: an ignorance of how power works, and specifically how this system works, or a primal, likely implicit, aversion to a woman president.

Either way, rehashing this shit 90 million times is just losing you potential allies. Move your fight to the legislature level, like Sanders should have been doing all along, like Clinton ~has~ been doing all along. That’s how you get your fucking revolution.
