The day we locked our hearts in the river Seine

I remember your confusion. There we were, in the heart of Paris, and I was just telling you to follow me. You thought it was maybe a stravagant move, or a silly surprise, but there we were, on that cold and misty night, crossing the Pont D’Arts over the river Seine.
I so wanted to do this. I had waited a lifetime to do this with the right person, in the best city in the planet. And there we were. We arrived to our destination, where hundreds, thousands of other lovers had locked their hearts before us… and it was our turn.
We took the lock and wrote our names. On the reverse side, we drew a heart with the infinity symbol in it. We looked at each other and smiled, almost giggled at the silly romanticism of it all. Yet it felt important. It felt like something I had to do, and wanted to do for so long.
So we locked our hearts to the side of the bridge, kissed, and threw away the key. It was done.
Mon coeur vit dans les profondeurs de la Seine, toujours joint à toi. ∞
The short video above tries to capture some of the magic of that very special night. I hope you like it, as much as it may hurt to watch it now in retrospective.
