It may just be me, but I have to admit to alarm bells sounding in my head when any medium, regardless of political leaning, tells its consumer(s) “what not to think, and how not to act.” There may be value in using sitcoms to spotlight social issues, but I feel there is a line between social critique and propaganda. I’m unfamiliar with both sitcoms, so maybe this is just somewhat unfortunate phrasing by the blogger cited in your article.
