#4 The escape to Egypt

Matthew 2:13–18

This verse goes to show us as the audience how the lives of His people pan out. I wonder what it would be like to be able to read a story like that of my own. To see the plot unfold, and see God’s plan be fulfilled in my life.

The angel of the Lord really likes to turn up in these stories considering Jesus. Just goes to show that God really does protect us in the background whether we are fully aware of it or not. One of the things that was said by Anna was to obey and act upon the Holy Spirit’s promptings. In this story, Joseph could have dismissed the dream as most of us do, however he decided to trust in the Lord during this time and in turn saved Jesus from the slaughtering of boys in Bethlehem.

I need to be like Joseph:

· Be so sensitive to God’s voice, that I may hear directions and promptings

· Take action

Lord, I pray today that you reveal Yourself to me. Help me remain silent and responsive to Your voice. I want to be able to hear You and commune with You in the way that You desire me to. Help me to know You more. Teach me how to walk in Your light, and how to love like You do.
