One of the most confusing issues in New Zealand visa jungle is the difference between ‘Residence’ and ‘Permanent Residence’. Among the nations that have this arrangement with New Zealand Resident Visa are Canada, Argentina, Chile, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Ireland, France, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, USA, Uruguay and the United Kingdom.

If a visa holder has submitted an I-140 immigrant petition or a labor certification prior to their fifth year anniversary of having the H-1B visa, they are Get Your Work Visa NZ entitled to renew their H-1B visa in one-year or three-year increments until a decision has been rendered on their application for permanent residence.

We reserve the right to remove any content at any time from this Community, including without limitation if it violates the Community Standards We ask that you report content that you in good faith Resident Visa NZ believe violates the above rules by clicking the Flag link next to the offending comment or by filling out this form New comments are only accepted for 3 days from the date of publication.

You can only apply for this at the end of the two years of your initial Resident Visa however, once you have it then you are essentially free to come and go and spend as much or as little time in New Zealand without jeopardising your ‘permanent residence’.
