The Senate does not answer to Barack Obama. It is a separate and coequal branch of the government. It has no constitutional duty to vote on a nominee, and certainly no constitutional duty to approve one.
It’s far too late to complain about partisanship in judicial lconfirmations. That ship sailed with Ted Kennedy’s lynching of Robert Bork. And whether you like it or not, Joe Biden’s precedent from 1992 is still just as valid today as it was then.
You can bet your rent money that, if the parties were reversed, Harry Reid would be blocking any consideration of a Republican president’s nominee, and the leftist MSM would be cheering him on. So, I suspect, would you.
