Those “common-sense” proposals would serve to disarm the law-abiding and have zero effect on the homicide rate, because they’re all aimed at making it illegal to buy guns except in the proper leftist-approved manner, and criminals don’t buy guns legally as it is.

Come up with a proposal that will affect criminals and not punish the law-abiding, and I’ll get behind it.
