Why losing Bonucci is not the end for Juventus?

Six years ago Juventus started one of the most successful spells of its history, legend Gianluigi Buffon along with Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli and a young Leonardo Bonucci formed the strongest defense not only in Serie A but in Europe. These four players have been the heart of the six consecutive scudetti won by the old lady.

But now, Leonardo Bonucci is set to leave the bianconeri to join one of the most bitter rivals, AC Milan in a shocking move that yesterday started as a rumor but now it appears to be sealed in the next couple of days.

What does this mean for Juventus?

Most of the fans are surely concerned by the fact of losing one of the four pillars that Juventus has been built around, but I think it is not as critical as it appears at first. The young Daniele Rugani has been with the team for two seasons already, learning all the craft for the experienced defenders, along with him is the seasoned Medhi Benatia, a veteran with huge experience in Italy and abroad, furthermore, if the old lady wanted to substitute Bonucci with another defense, Mattia Caldara is just waiting to be called from Atalanta in order to join the team that bought him in 2016 and left him loaned with the club based in Bergamo.

As you can see, the six time champions have the options to move on, and as well as they survived the departure of the ones like Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal, Carlos Tevez and Paul Pogba; Bonucci’s farewell will not be by any means the end.
