The Author’s Apprenticeship: I was living a lie for 6 years
Johnny Treadgold

Having been on that journey and having gotten some stuff published, I want to tell you something. You are a writer when you say you are.

You must be a storyteller and you have to share your stories. When you do, the world will laugh at them until they stop.

But, always within yourself there will be a doubt and that doubt is FUEL.

We are driven by the slights, the slings, the arrows. You go to a writer’s group and you come home wanting to commit murder — ice pick their tires at the very least.

But, you are not doing it for them. You are doing it for you.

You are being paid in a currency others don’t even know exists.

Write on. One day you will read something you wrote and you will say, “Wow, that’s pretty good.”

Read that. Send me your stuff: I’ll give it a read.

Good luck and don’t try to get treatment. It is not a treatable condition.
