Wake up. Your Facebook feed is polluting your mind.

I truly believe that the content we see online has an impact on our mental and emotional wellbeing.

I’ve recently come to realise that most of the information on my feed is negative, by using a little extension called Social Fixer which allows you to specify certain keywords and hide posts that include said keyword.

What shocked me is how much content is being hidden, as seen in the example below where the first 7 posts in my feed relate to war.

Facebook acts as just another news station, feeding you propaganda and utterly wasteful information every time you use it, sucking your attention away from what matters (real human connection), and instead bombards you with a constant stream of negativity.

As such, it’s important to take back control and curate what you’re exposed to, as opposed to letting Facebook’s algorithms and online media outlets brainwash your mind with malicious nonsense.

No, I don’t give a flying fuck that Beyonce and Jay-Z just had a child.

Unfollow pages that employ scare tactics to grab your attention.

Unfriend people who you are not aligned with.

Omit content that has not intellectual value.

Wake up and stop being programmed.

Then hopefully you will feel better about life.

On a related note, I highly recommend watching this talk between Dave Rubin and Tristan Harris below, who discuss the [lack of] ethics when it comes to technology.
