I am 32 and I do not have my shit together.

Over the weekend my wife said, “I feel sorry for artists. Musicians, painters, writers. You guys just don’t fit in and yet you have to, here.”

It’s true. We only have value to the commercial machine when someone says we do. So what do we do with all of our passion, ideas, and energy if we don’t want to be captains of industry? Just keep painting, creating, and writing. What else can you do? The machine rips the soul out of you if you let it.
