Wanting More
Hey guys! Maybe somebody out there, at Think Progressive,Thoughts and Ideas or The Editors can explain me or you, the reader, why is it women that always need more money, better jobs, better working conditions, higher salaries, more space, more room, larger apartment, more clothes, larger closet, more shoes, higher heels, more quiet, more friends, better friends, more tampons, more free time, more vacations, bigger bags, more accessories, more fashion, more milk and one more drink —but only less skirt and less short-shorts.
It is not personal. I am not asking because of a knack for complicated questions. The question is cardinal; it embodies a philosophical pragmatic approach. It is the most adequate way to maybe hit upon an answer that could yield final understanding of the great contribution of women to the materialistic and consumerist society we all live in. Answering could lead to a last-word explanation as to why capitalism will never collapse, as Marxists and leftists have for long dreamed of. And answering the question can also shed new light on what the “women’s struggle” and the “women’s freedom” have always been about?
Who wants to risk their skin and go first? Anyone?….
I thought so.
