What Childhood Toy Did You Want But Never Receive?
Nicole Dieker

Every year I would ask for anything not homemade.

All of my Dolls wore clothes made by my mom. The main problem was that she used old patterns & fabric scraps. My dolls all wore 70's floral pilgrim dresses. So when I would play with friends, it always looked like my dolls were the Mennonite doll-friends who came to visit the big city.

*of course in retrospect, I realize that she is crazy talented & put in so.much.work. But I was a brat kid who wanted my dolls to fit in.
