While I agree the subscription model may address certain issues on the developer side it creates other ones for the customer. If all the software I used was subscription based I’d easily be spending hundreds each month, not to mention charges spread all over the month which creates chaos. For some consumers that model won’t work. I’d rather pay more up front and upgrade once a year. I would be open to a model where developers grouped their applications together offering a bundle (there is a Mac based outfit doing this now) at one monthly price might be a good compromise. Just my thoughts.
