Dr. Jimmy Romanos, associate professor of physics at LAU, receives the Abdul-Hamid Shouman Award for his research on atomic-level thermodynamic modeling of gases.

Dr. Romanos was selected, along with 10 other researchers from different Arab countries, out of 151 applicants by scientific review committees.

Dr. Jimmy Romanos, Lebanese American University

The award first granted in 1982, is the first Arab award concerned with scientific research and celebrating Arab researchers.

This recognition highlights Dr. Romanos’ investigations into the atomic-level thermodynamic modeling of gases and how it can be applied to create innovative energy storage solutions.

The research adds knowledge to the stability of methane hydrates and their potential impact on climate change.
