Only Could Be Taught By a Woman
I know this past Wednesday was “Women’s Day”. It feels a little ridiculous that we don’t have a “Men’s Day,” but after thinking about it I think I know why.
I have been incredibly fortunate in my life to have been exposed to both, what GREAT looks like and what TERRIBLE looks like. I have learned from both.
I have been blessed to have been surrounded by amazing women, who have taught me some of the most valuable lessons and qualities that continue to empower me today.
I use the word “AMAZING” because I feel like it is an insult to use the word “STRONG”. Personally, I feel that if I use the word “STRONG” that I am insulting women in general.
You rarely hear the word “STRONG” used when defining a successful man but for some reason women are supposed to be weak and when they exhibit any sense of strength in any area they should stand out and be defined as “STRONG”.
What utter bullshit.
Time to give thanks.
A woman taught me that I do not need to be right all the f*cking time.
A woman taught me that love is right there in front of you and you can find it if you would just move the damn ketchup bottle once in awhile.
A woman taught me that being patient and waiting is not giving in. It is just waiting for the right time.
A woman showed me that loving and caring for others allowed me to love myself more.
A woman taught me that feelings are worth fighting for.
A woman taught me how to be fierce and incredibly dangerous.
A woman taught me that while I am not the center of the universe and that EVERYTHING is more important than me, I am still the most important thing to her. That’s all I ever needed to hear.
A woman is the Center of My Universe.
Have a great weekend.
