Easily the most childish and populist piece I read this year..Such base propaganda that makes it laughable..The core idea that we are entering a period of unravelling of the current system is correct. The diagnosis is a perfect example of projection. That is, the attempt impose globally a neoliberal/cultural marxist ideology spearheaded by western liberal powers has come at an end. Trump is a manifestation of this rising trend but certainly not the one responsible for it.

Cycles in History are nothing new. From ancient Greece and India, civilizations that believed firmly in history’s seasons, to Spengler’s “Decline of the West” and Toynbee’s “Study of History” to the less well-known “Fourth Turning” and Kondratiev waves, many have adhered to this notion of repetition, best summed up in the “ History doesn’t repeat itself, but it does rhyme” saying. It almost seems like the author wants to make it appear that he has made a novel and deep observation of the machinations of history-one common to every student of history out there..

Add some ridiculous russophobic narratives equating Putin to the collective manifestation of all evil men ever to walk the earth-the Mugabe comparison alone is a good indication of how deluded the author is-and you have your ready to sell article.

But the funniest claim is that liberal views are sidelined in today’s media and their noble champions fighting an uneven battle against the tide of rampant populism. Anyone with half a brain understands the validity of this claim. More importantly though, the author actually claims that liberal views act as a guarantor of peace. Well, all US wars in the past 2 decades have been made in the name of libertarian values and their supposed universalism. I guess the prevailing liberal view is that a few hundreds of thousands of deaths are acceptable collateral damage in their pursuit of hegemony.

Liberals, the ideal apologists of US exceptionalism, the ideology which has the highest chance amongst all to cause the war the author is dreading..
