As we try to improve the environments we live in, it is important to see how technology will soon fit into the next wave of environments. My ideas to create an effective self-guided tour application revolves around using technology to improve the experiences one may have while navigating campus. By inputting various interests into the app it would create a catered route to show the user around campus.

This is two different scenarios for how a self-directed tour app could cater towards different interests.

The first row is about a prospective student interested in studying music. After telling the app what the student is interested in, it creates a personalized tour to buildings and facilities that could interest the user.

The second row is about a family visiting CMU. They’re mostly interested in learning about student life here. After telling the app more about the family’s interests it creates a tour centering around dormitories, food options, and fitness facilities.
