Life gives us a hundred, thousand, maybe even million reasons to be grateful to God every second. To those who don’t believe in God, you have to believe in something right? lol whatever it is, was probably made by God.

I’m sitting in a hospital bench at a waiting room. One of the places I find, can humble anyone. If you’re Nigerian and have been to a government hospital at rush hour, you’ll know.

On this same bench, there are different personalities. The woman, who’s been waiting for hours. I can tell by the backpack and Bagco bag she has lying in the corner with clothes, a food flask and several other small bags. She’s singing and praying under her breath nonstop. Her husband sitting next to her, trying to hide emotions behind a stiff face. But the worry in his eyes betray him.

The old man who’s silent. Thinking , legs crossed, trying to be as “man” as it gets. Several misplaced grunts occasionally escaping. Deep in thoughts, finger-twisting , head caving downwards. I wonder what he’s thinking.

The other brother, eyes closed, slowing feeling across his face, in a calm soothing manner.

And then there’s me. Just slowly observing for the sake of this piece.

What’s on the other side of their thoughts? I don’t know. but it stirred my thoughts enough to want to thank God all the more for my life and for those I know.
