Brexit: There’s No Plan! (Fiction vs Reality)

17,410,742 people voted for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union. The two questions on everybody’s mind right now are: “What’s the Leave campaigners’ plan?” and “What happens next?”

There are two ways to look at this: The reality and the fiction. But what happens when the reality just looks like fiction?

THE FICTION.

Journalist: - The Labour MP for Tottenham, David Lammy, attacked Leave campaigners today including Boris Johnson, Michael Gove and Nigel Farage, suggesting they are “entirely unprepared and are willing to risk perpetual decline in our economy and our national standing and reputation”. Now, what’s the plan?
Leave Tory Politician: - There’s no plan!
Journalist: - What do you mean “there’s no plan”?
Leave Tory Politician: - There is no plan.
Journalist: - Didn’t you have a plan?
Leave Tory Politician: - What plan?
Journalist: - You know, a plan… So that you can get it all started.
Leave Tory Politician: - Nope. No plan.
Journalist: - Wait a minute, when you chose to campaign for Leave, didn’t anyone think “Alright guys, we need a plan”?
Leave Tory Politician: - No. We didn’t plan we’d win it in the first place. We went in thinking we would give it a go.
Journalist: - So, you’re here today, in front of me, admitting that you have no plan for the Brexit you campaigned for?
Leave Tory Politician: - No plan.
Journalist: - What about the pledges made during the campaign? The extra money for the NHS, the immigration pledge...
Leave Tory Politician: - We made no pledge.
Journalist: - No pledge? You did mention the NHS and the immigration, didn’t you?
Leave Tory Politician: - We merely mentioned them… Among many other things.
Journalist: - Are you saying that your promises during the campaign were only promises?
Leave Tory Politician: - There were no promises. We didn’t promise anything. We merely gave example of what we could do when we would take back control. We told people what they wanted to hear.
Journalist: - 17 million people have voted Leave and are expecting you to deliver on your promises. And as soon as possible. Don’t you think?
Leave Tory Politician: - I think what the British people want is for us all to get on with the result of the referendum. Leave won, we can finally take back control and that’s what is important.
Journalist: - But you have no plan.
Leave Tory Politician: - No plan.
Journalist: - So, what’s next then?
Leave Tory Politician: - Well I don’t know about you, but I think that, after such a long campaign, I will be taking a couple of month off to recover. I’m off to sunny Spain with my wife!

THE REALITY.
