Impressions of Argentina’s magnificent and diverse capital

The first stop of my recent journey through Latin America was wonderful Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, a country famous for two things: Football and Inflation!

As such, when you come to Buenos Aires, prepare for massive price fluctuations, random people on every street corner offering you the chance to exchange your dollars, euros or pounds for pesos, and long queues stretching out of every Western Union office in the city!

If I could give you one advice when you decide to visit Buenos Aires, which you should, then it is (if you are from a Euro, Pound or Dollar country) to bring either as much cash with you as possible and exchange it on the black market as you’ll save yourself a lot of money compared to withdrawing money at ATM’s (don’t do that!), or, second option, to as they say “Western Union yourself”, which means send yourself money to Western Union and collect it there, as they tend to have the same exchange rate as the Black Market or “Dollar Blue” as it is called.
