As a lifelong Liberal Democrat (I reject the term Progressive these days), it hurt to read your piece “A Warning to My Fellow Democrats”. It’s not that I disagree with most of what you’ve written, but it’s more that I didn’t learn your answers to our problems.

Of course we need to pass legislation that reflect the policies of being a committed Democrat and a member of the Party. And I do feel strongly that President Obama did try and, in many respects, succeeded when one keeps in mind what he inherited on day one. (That’s another story for me to write). And I feel strongly that Hillary Clinton as our POTUS, had she not had the election stolen from us (with the likes of Bernie, BernOrBust Groupies, Third Party spoilers, Comey, Russia, et al) would certainly have enacted the legislations for which we stand and that America needs. Yes, the list of what we need is long, but not impossible.

But I really believe we have a people problem less so than the Democrat’s Brand. You refer to the “hostile voices” running the show. I’m not exactly sure to whom you refer. It would be good to know that as our opinions might differ. But we do need people who are highly intelligent and careful thinkers with a breadth of experience, integrity and very strong voices. I have a few in mind. But, then again, no one is perfect.

The questions I have:

1) Do we need perfection to win?

2) Will widespread misogyny (regardless of Party) hurt us… again?

3) How “dirty” do we have to fight to come up against the Republicans & their splinter groups?

4) Is it too late for 2018, and certainly 2020?

I enjoyed your piece (despite my cringing through it) and thank you for it!
