In its simplest form, gratitude shows you that the grass beneath your feet is greener than you think. It makes you look at things as a cup half-full, instead of a cup half-empty. It teaches you that happiness is always now.

Gratitude is more of a practice than an action. You practice it mentally and emotionally. It’s when you repeatedly take a step back to look at what you can be grateful for at that moment.

When you start being grateful, most of your worries seem smaller; your fears have less power over you. And that changes everything.

What is…

In a nutshell, a thought is “an idea or opinion produced by thinking, or occurring suddenly in the mind.”

Most of us worship our thoughts, and we take what they say very seriously. Whatever our thoughts say, we give them our complete trust, taking them as the absolute truth. As a result, the most painful emotions arise when we believe in negative thoughts. Thoughts like:

“I should be more fit.”

“I am a fraud.”

“I really messed that up.”

“I will never get it right.”

“They are ignoring me.”

“I am so unfortunate.”

“They think I’m stupid.”

“This is too…

the opposite of connection is loneliness.

Loneliness is becoming the most common thing people go through, even when surrounded by other people. It can be terrifying and it’s considered as one the most unpleasant things one person can feel.
In fact, loneliness has been studied for quite some time now, and scientists have shown how it even affects the well functioning of our brains.

Naturally, the opposite of loneliness is connection, but how to really connect with someone? We can see that many people know how to connect most of the times, but many of us feel truly lost.

It is, though, our responsibility to connect…

It’s simpler than you think.

Do you ever feel like another day goes by and you still don’t know what you’re doing here? Or who you are? Or what you should be doing?
You know, with your Life.

I searched for the definition of Life, and the Cambridge English Dictionary describes it as “the period between birth and death, or the experience or state of being alive”.

The period between birth and death.

The experience or state of being alive.

What is Life? How come no one gave us an instruction manual on the day we were born explaining what we were about to get…

and what you should do, instead.

We feel frustrated and stressed when we have to do things we don’t want to do. That is why the phrase "I have to" is so present in our lives. But the truth is, there is no such thing as having to do something.

If you wanted, you could wake up tomorrow, go to the nearest train station, pick the first train and drop off in an unknown destination.
No one would make you stay. But what they would do is escalate the consequences if you don’t do what you are expected to do.

Every single decision you make comes…

You don't wait to improve. You practice it.

To improve yourself is to do little acts of nourishment every day.
Start today:

1. Count your three wins of today and decide the three you want for tomorrow

“One step forward is a step in the right direction.” Kara Goucher

Every night and before falling asleep, practice counting the three wins of that day. It can be from “I won the lottery” to “I made a nice coffee”. Then decide the three wins you want to have on the next day. This is an effective technique to mentally track your daily life and put you in the mood to wake up the next morning.

2. Learn how to love yourself more

In this over-connected world, we believe that the root of our crisis lies in complete disconnection with nature, others, our true selves, and ancestral values.

Back in the days, we used to live in harmony with our environment, while following ancient wisdom transmitted through generations.

The human race kept evolving, but can we honestly say we’re going in the right direction? Our kids are growing up along with individualism, instant gratification, and dependence on material goods — while we spend our time destroying our planet.

As writers, we feel the urge to inform people and raise their awareness to make…

Self love

There is absolutely no one who thinks only positive things about themselves all day and every day. Lack of self-love/self-worth/self-esteem starts from one thought. That thought is “I am not good enough”. And most of us think we are not good enough as we are.

“I am not good enough” is the reason why most people today are running the eternal rat race.

The thing about self-love is that you will never get it from someone else. You have to build it yourself. …

Or will we make it more unsafe by convincing ourselves we’re taking measures to ensure our safety?

We all thought this would happen only in the movies, but today humanity is boiling in the water of fear. The COVID-19 outbreak is the tipping point, and it pushed the human race into full-blown panic.

Firstly, because the world is finding out countless weaknesses in its own system. We were not ready for this.

Secondly, because COVID-19 is an invisible and unknown threat. We fear it. And fear is what feeds panic. It brings up the best and the worst of us all.
In my country, Portugal, people are in their homes doing quarantine as prevention. …
