Tomorrow I meet my doctor again for the first time in 3 years.
She was forced out of her practice at that time because she wanted to provide medical care for transgender patients and her physician’s group did not want her to do so.
So she had to leave.

There is a lot of misunderstanding in the White Community about what it means to have White Privilege. I get it. I am White.
I had to work and compete for everything I ever earned or received. I worked hard in school. I continue to try to improve and compete. And I never had anyone exclaim, “Oh! You are White! Right this way to the fast track!”
So the idea that I have enjoyed a privilege or some advantage was a little insulting, to be honest.
Until I married a black woman. Then I started to see how she was treated in contrast to how I was treated. …
