Ah, writers on writing. They are many and varied. I particularly appreciate the need for dissension that Ms. Bly refers to, perhaps because it is a natural element of my emotional life, but picking a fight is counter-intuitive to gaining an audience. Six people like my piece, one blasts me, and unfollows; who do I cry over? (None, really, but the impulse is there)

Curious that the thoughts I have in solitude seem to need the friction of public exposure before they become full-blown arguments.

Bless Carol Bly; may her writing on writing experience a resurgence of sales.
