Every bit of yours I read tells me another important piece. The endless questions, which you alluded to elsewhere,; the energy it takes to constantly appease the curious. I need a question for the human race at large, when we meet — something like, “Hi, is there anything you would like me to know about you before I get turned loose in your personal china shop?” Though as a relative pointed out, that is all part of a relational dance; asking for what we want, making mistakes, saying we’re sorry and trying to do better next time.

Some of this is so adorably funny! “What the hell do I do with my hands?”

But the best phrases for me were “get on with life,” and “But it is so worth it, every bit.” Because you have always been you, and society’s expectation can only intrude so far.

Nice article, as usual. Thank you!
