Signing Otto Porter for a big deal basically locks them into the statuses of the Atlanta Hawks of the past decade. Is that bad enough that you will risk Porter walk and then prove he’s as good as shown this year, while you end up signing another awful (being very nice here) contract like Mahinmi and set that team back for almost the duration of Wall’s prime?

I didn’t think like this move before (signing Porter), but if it was today, I would just play it safe and sing him while praying that Oubre got better and Mahinmi could at least be a good replacement for Gortat. It’s not like I’m trusting Ernie G to make a better use of that capspace anyway.
