The whole film fraternity is under shock after the news of Irfan Khan‘s death came out. The actor was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai on 28th April 2020. Today, the doctors and his family confirmed that he is no more with us. As soon as the fans, and celebrities got the news they are traumatized. Irfan Khan got diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor in March 2018. The actor since then was going through the treatments.

Irfan Khan was one of a kind actor who could not be replaced. He gave powerful acting performances year after year. His cinematic brilliance and fine acting is an inspiration for many actors. The actor was honored with the National Film Award and Filmfare Awards. Also, he received India’s fourth-highest civilian honor Padma Shri in 2011.

Early Life:

He was born on 7th January 1967 in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Irfan came from a Muslim family based in Khajuriya village, Rajasthan. Irfan was good at sports especially cricket and he along with his best friend got selected for the CK Nayudu Tournament. Unfortunately, he could not make it far because of low funds. Khan pursued his degree in MA when he earned the scholarship to study at the National School of Drama, in New Delhi, 1984.

Career:

Though Irfan is well known and appreciated for his simple and prolific acting skills. The actor did not get a smooth start as he came from a non-acting background. At the beginning of his career, Khan worked in multiple TV serials on Doordarshan. He acted in Chanakya, Bharat Ek Khoj, Sara Jahan Hamara, Banegi Apni Baat, Chandrakanta, and many others. The actor kept on going with the roles in TV serials until he was approached by Mira Nair to play a cameo in Salaam Bombay(1988). But luck not being on his side his role in the movie was edited when the film was finally released. He was then featured in the critically acclaimed drama film Kamla Ki Maut (1989) opposite to Roopa Ganguly.

The actor got his first break in Bollywood film Rog as a lead in 2005. His performance in the movie was so strong that from the critics to the audience everyone lauded the actor. He also did negative roles in several films and won the Filmfare Best Villain award for his role in film Haasil, 2004. Going further, in 2007 the actor received Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for his film Life in a Metro and The Namesake

The actor is known well for his role as a police inspector in the 2008 film Slumdog Millionaire. Irfan’s film Paan Singh Tomar, based on the real-life athlete turned dacoit received immensely positive reviews by the critics. The actor showed his versatility again, in 2015 he played the lead role in film Piku opposite along with Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan. His performance in Talvar and Jazba and Lunchbox was loved by the fans.

Irfan Khan then in 2017 appeared in Hindi Medium and Qarib Qarib Single again ruling the hearts of the audience and the box office as well. The actor had a palatial Calibre of acting and a realistic approach towards the roles he played. His career graph is full of amazing performances. He held a unique and commendable essence in his speech and acting that are a reflection of his true self. Unfortunately, the series of amazing performances stop after his last movie English Medium released in 2020. His role as Champak Bansal in English Medium a father who’s ready to face come what may for his daughter’s dream is a bliss to watch.

The fans and celebrities are passing the condolences to the actor’s family. Though his death was sudden the actor has created an irreplaceable place in the hearts of his million fans and colleagues. May the people’s man rest in peace.
