The value we can unlock when we combine Mixed Reality, AI and Blockchain
An interview with Toby Allen, founder of Jobs in XR
By Ton Dobbe — Chief Inspiration Officer, Value Inspiration
Every week I interview entrepreneurs and experts from around the world to share their big idea about new forms of value creation and the potential we can unlock when technology augments the unique strengths of people to deliver remarkable impact.
Unlocking results we’ve never seen before
I got inspired by the big idea Toby Allen represents with his business as he promotes the impact we can make when we blend the use of Virtual/Augmented reality with technologies such as AI and Blockchain. Hence, I invited him to my podcast. We explore the benefits of an increasing hands-free world, how the combination of new technology platforms such as block-chain, AI and augmented reality have the potential of transforming complete industries, and how we should use that opportunity to think big to create new solutions that are both fun to use, and remarkable in their impact.
The thing that triggered me most from my interview with Toby
“the ability to visualize your worlds in a hands-free capacity, augment it with holograms, and information and viewing that information in a new way is absolutely incredible. This could lead to results that we’ve never seen before.”
Why did this trigger me? What’s the bigger value here?
What Toby is referring to is the opportunity we can unfold when we blend technologies such as Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality with the power of AI and BlockChain.
As he points out: “think about the amount of accidents or errors that people make, this then becomes a very nice way of training people, of avoiding problems. The compound effect of all this, is that you start reducing i.e. you stop making those errors and start being more efficient. Companies not only would make/save more money. but would also start reducing things like insurance premiums.”
I agree with Toby that this could then empower companies to do a lot more than they are doing today, and make a lot more fun at the same time.
What’s the more significant question/opportunity that raises?
Talking about fun, and the people aspect of this: What if we’d take a different perspective on designing the business solutions we’re using on a day to day basis? Why do we always have to be in front of a screen? Why can’t we blend the essence of these solutions with the moment of action — when we’re in the field, in meetings with our customers, on-site working on a project, running a workshop, etc…
As Toby points out: ‘there are a lot of people that don’t like sitting in front of a computer and actually want to be outside doing things or being with the people that they want to be with or being on sets in a theater production, being outside saving rhinos, or studying marine life.’
How would this change the impact of tools like CRM, Project Management, Finance or Procurement? And think about the engagement factor of people, and the effect that has on a business.
Listen to the podcast interview with Toby Allen, and why it has the potential to transform the we work and unlock results we’ve never seen before.
